Video : Police Dismiss ASP Usman, Four Others Over Killing Of Suspect In Delta

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman and four others over the unlawful killing of a suspect in the Effurun area of Delta State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, who announced the dismissal, said the officers would be prosecuted.
The extra-judicial killing of the suspect, 28-year-old Mene Ogidi, by the ASP sparked outrage online.
The police had said that the incident occurred on April 26, 2026, when operatives attached to Area Command Effurun acted on intelligence that Ogidi had been apprehended while allegedly attempting to waybill a parcel containing “a Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition.”

Following the unlawful killing of Ogidi, Usman, and other members of his team were arrested and moved to the Force headquarters to face disciplinary actions.
