A six-year-old Nigerian girl, Amna Ayomide Bennett, has d!ed after falling from a bedroom window on the 28th floor of an apartment building in Toronto, Canada.
The tragic incident which occurred at 200 Chalkfarm Drive on Sunday, April 26, 2026, has left her family devastated and the community in shock.
Police were called to the building near Chalkfarm Drive and Jane Street, in the North York part of the city, at around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Toronto Police Service.
“We do not know exactly how the child fell, but at this time, it does not appear suspicious,” police spokesperson Amy Davey said, adding that investigation is ongoing.
The building, operated by Greenwin property management, dates back to the early 1970s.
Toronto Police Superintendent Jack Gurr said the police have scanned the room for evidence and determined there was no malicious intent. He could not provide further details.
